Biography

Megan Page Wiegert is a St. Louis based actress and musician. She has been a dedicated performing artist for over 10 years. She is mostly known for her stage work with a multitude of professional St. Louis Theatre Companies. She is a college graduate from Lindenwood (St. Charles MO) University's Fine Arts Acting Program. Megan first knew she wanted to pursue a career in theatre when she was exposed to work of British Born Actor and Director, Gary Oldman. Specifically, when watching the film adaptation of Tom Stoppard's play "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead," she felt inspired to seriously consider turning what was originally just a hobby into her life. She has received musical training from various instructors on classical, contemporary, and musical theatre styles. Because of her love for creating and performing music, Megan also took it upon herself to take up the piano, then the guitar, then the ukulele with only herself and the internet as her teacher. At the age of 16, Megan played guitar, keyboard, and sang for a local rock band by the name of "Pinky Extended". Later, Megan wrote, recorded, and released a DM (Album) of her original songs and a few covers to BandCamp.com (https://meganpagewiegert.bandcamp.com) Megan loves art in any form and believes that taking part in its creation is so emotionally rewarding that no one should be without it. She is always ready to make a fool of herself and have a laugh. She also relishes the opportunity to express raw, genuine emotion and to hopefully help the audience to feel the compassion and empathy that comes from viewing powerful, serious theatre. She firmly believes that any theatre that makes us feel something-whether it's pain from emotional distress or from stitches in our sides-is theatre worth being part of.
