Biography

Darcy was born in Edmonton and grew up on a farm in Thorsby, AB. He graduated Business Administration at NAIT in 1981. That summer he worked for an automotive parts store in Thorsby and soon after joined them full time. Darcy purchased that store in August 1986 and grew the organization buying another store in Breton, and a third store in Wetaskiwin. He owned and ran the stores for 20 years, eventually selling in 2006. Darcy married his wife Sharon on October 8, 1988, and they have lived in Thorsby their entire life. Sharon is a play school teacher and a good one too! Sharon and Darcy have three amazing kids Brandon, Carson, and Kaylyn. Sharon and Darcy attended and supported their kids in Alberta Summer Games, 4 Fastball National Championships, 1 Telus Cup Hockey National Championship and countless tournaments all across Canada. They are now heavily involved in team roping and compete as a family all across Alberta. There is nothing more rewarding for Darcy than spending time with his kids and making new friends. There is never a day when he regrets the hard work and extra time spent to get to know those around him. Darcy understands the connections from the past always help to form new relationships. In 2002, Darcy attended a RE/MAX meeting in Edmonton and thought this could be his new path in life. RE/MAX and selling real estate became his passion. In his first week with RE/MAX, he had 7 listings and never looked back. Every year since has been busier with new clients than the previous one and he has started getting a lot of repeat business from past customers. Darcy tries his best to provide real service and make sure anyone who deals with him is satisfied. Darcy is an expert in listening to his client, working hard to help them, being honest and sincere, and offering more than the people he competes with. Thus, Darcy has experienced the great awards of a busy career. He was able to obtain many awards and consistently place in the top group of Realtor's in the capital region. His wife and family have been fantastic and very understanding, knowing that his job is important and people are counting on him. Darcy is selfless in both his career and personal life. He coached, sponsored teams and events and always looked for ways to fund and improve facilities they were using. Darcy received the first NHLPA grant awarded in Alberta, he worked closely with the municipal and provincial governments to acquire grants and raise funds to build and repair aging facilities. In 2010, Darcy was awarded the Recreation Volunteer Recognition Award for his efforts as a volunteer. In 2012, Darcy was head of fundraising at the Telus Cup held in Leduc. They were able to bring $400,000.00 in gross revenue to the event and donated about $120,000.00 back to minor sports in Leduc. In 2013, Darcy was a finalist and received $20,000.00 in Kraft Hockey Goes ON contest. Darcy has always felt it was right to give more than you take and is beyond proud of the accomplishments made with each group he was involved in. Darcy is very thankful for being able to work with RE/MAX and the many other Realtor's that he has been fortunate enough to do business with. His main focus is to make Real Estate easy for his clients and anyone else who is involved in the transaction. Everyone appreciates a simple, professional process with a good result.
