Juris (born 1980) has been a passionate technology entrepreneur since 2001. Starting from establishing and running enterprise oriented software and consulting businesses in areas of enterprise content management and software development, He has always been interested in finding more ways technology could help to improve everyday lives. While being active in machine vision/deep learning fields for last 5 years, another active area of interest for Juris is information security. This combination allows to have specific perspective on potential benefits as well as risks from practical AI implementations. Juris is a serial entrepreneur and is still actively involved with multiple businesses being both in active CEO roles as well as on advisory boards. More recently Juris has been a speaker in local TEDx Riga event in 2017, an expert on AI panel for BBC "Talking Business" in 2016, a passionate technology evangelist and speaker in multiple Deep Learning, AI and Machine Vision events around the world. 4SmartStreets was established in 2016 as a daughter company of KleinTech Services. As KleinTech Services developed its machine vision/deep learning technology in logistics in early 2011, soon it realized there were other applications of the technology outside railroads, ports and logistics. The main goal of 4SmartStreets is to identify help use existing CCTV and related infrastructure to improve knowledge about traffic and patterns. Our solutions are all designed to improve the experience of inhabitants of the city while helping to transform the behavioral patterns towards higher sustainability. 4SmartStreets in collaboration with KleinTech has been quick into developing practical applications of deep learning, hitting a hot and viable trend. Both companies have recently started a collaborative laboratory which specializes in quickly developing prototypes of video / image based recognition scenarios for different customer requirements.
