Vasil Petrov is a Bulgarian jazz and pop singer, composer and artist. Famous with the inscriptions "Bulgarian Frank Sinatra" and "The Other".
Born in Sofia, in the family of a geodesist-cartographer and mathematician. He was baptized by his grandfather, who founded the Kaval Choir. His father played the harmonica. His family has a long-term relationship with Maestro Georgi Atanasov. Vasil Petrov has a beautiful rich timbre, depth and incredible vocal technique. The talented singer quickly takes on the Bulgarian music scene as a jazz and pop singer. In 1991 she graduated from the Conservatory in Sofia, the vocal faculty with a specialty of pop music. He has participated in many events at the Bulgarian National Radio and Television. In 1992 and 1994 he was the best-selling performer in Bulgaria. With success he released three albums in one year. The first is called "The Other" - released on a tape and mainly with his own plays. The second album, Jazz and Blues, includes cover versions of songs by well-known pop and jazz performers. The third album, released on tape and CD, is a duet with the famous Bulgarian pianist Rumen Toskov. He has made a series of albums, including "Vassil Petrov sings Gershwin", released by Pulse Record on a compact disc. At the first Bulgarian national awards "Orpheus +" (Bulgarian Grammy) Vasil Petrov was chosen as the best male voice of the year. He also won three categories - best male vocals, best hit of the year, best album of the year for The Other.
In 2014, Vasil Petrov presents 12 of his paintings in the marble lobby of the First Studio of the Bulgarian National Radio on his 50th anniversary. All of them are author's graphics, abstract, and do not express anything specific.
