Rik Zak (born August 4, 1951) is a writer and independent filmmaker. He was born in Canada. He studied design and advertising at the Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary. In 1976 he and his wife Rita moved to New York City to study advertising at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City. He then worked in Manhattan for years as a Creative Director at Schroeder Inc., a New York content and brand development agency with clients worldwide. In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Rik met Shaolin kung fu Master Woo Chai Meng and began his decades-long journey as one of his senior disciples. Rik is also Professor Emeritus at Alberta University of the Arts and a self-taught filmmaker who studied screenwriting with John Truby.
