Born in Grand Junction Colorado to Roger and Sherryl Whittington. In 2005 J. Michael started his career working for KJCT News 8, ABC affiliate in Grand Junction. While working at the station J. Michael met Donald Kocher on a movie set called Grand Junction the Movie (2005). While working with Don on many projects J. Michael started learning about the film industry. J. Michael join the group called Coeptis Entertainment Founded by Don along with Christopher Mcgee, Jeramie Ewell, and Aaron Abeyta. In 2007 J. Michael Started working with KKCO News 11, NBC affiliate after leaving KJCT. In 2009 J. Michael along with Jeramie Ewell produced a short film called Spin Wars (2009) for a Youtube contest "Project Direct 2009". Shortly after two of the group members Jeramie and Don along with J. Michael all moved breaking up the group. In the Spring of 2009 J. Michael moved to Colorado Springs working for KKTV News 11, CBS affiliate until was laid off in 2011. After being laid off J. Michael went back to the ABC affiliate, of the main station KRDO News 13 in Colorado Springs. After working there for a year J. Michael was laid off once again along with two other associates Matt Nagode and Jason Chapmen. Wanting to further his career in television started a production company Reject 13 along with Matt and Jason. 2013 Jason left the company and J. Michael and Matt Changed the Name to Blu Video Productions. In 2013 J. Michael sold his house and moved to Denver to attend school at the Colorado Art Institute. There J. Michael meet up with Rodney Head in hopes to build a team again. 2016 Rodney introduced J. Michael to Stacy Harris owner of Silent Scream Studios. Stacy wanted to bring his comic book series to life and had a deal with a CW affiliate in Florida to air a T.V. series call Anthologies of Horror. J. Michael joined with Stacy and J. Michael wrote the first pilot The Invisible Eyes. 2017 the Pilot air with good reviews but after leaving Silent Scream Studios no more episodes were made putting an halt to the series. There on the set of The Invisible Eyes J. Michael met Rick James. After leaving Silent Scream Studios 2017 J. Michael and Rick James started a production company called Denver Pictures.
