For years Lil Craig began discovering his talent for writing, mainly poetry and he loved how the magic came together when applying it to music. Music has always been a part of his life. Lil Craig was in the church choir at 5 years old, and comes from a long line of gospel singers in his family. His father sings, his mother and her 5 sisters had a group and sang, his grandfather also was a gospel singer, and even his great grandparents were well known for their group.
Lil Craig moved to Ohio in August of 1999 and did a few songs here and there in the studio. He tried hard to get them heard... But no one seemed to be listening. When Lil Craig was of age to start going to clubs he gave DJ's his songs on CD to play...but they never played them. He began to want to give up, rethinking his "purpose" and who he was and what he was doing. Disbelievers were telling Lil Craig that he should "give it up" and find a "plan B". Lil Craig admits that there was a point in time he started to believe them. But..... Something in him just could not stop what he was doing, and he could not ignore the dream he was after.
Lil Craig kept writing and suddenly in 2004 had a taste of spotlight when the world famous television show American Idol brought him through to the second round of the preliminary auditions, beating out over 25,000 other hopefuls who auditioned and wanted to make it even as far as he did in that competition. Later in 2010 one of Lil Craig songs called 'Turnin Me On' featuring Danny Wells and Big Mucci of The 71 North Boys made it to be featured on a Nationally televised program called The Dr. Oz Show!
In 2011 Lil Craig began taking an album he was in process of writing very seriously. He wanted this album to be "raw" and personal. He wanted it to express what people who meet him don't get to see publicly. The happy, the sad, the love and passion that for the most part he kept "secret". That album (The Secret) took until 2012 to complete because he wanted to create something so beautiful and so perfect that even the people that doubted that he would ever be successful could see that something special was inside of him and it was needing to be seen.
From that album, in the beginning of 2013 Lil Craig released his very first national single called "4U"! A song about a woman in an abusive relationship and a friend so in love with her that he would do anything to save her from a terrible life of abuse and sadness. This song by Lil Craig is now sold in 32 nationwide music stores and played by many Dj's across the country and internationally.
Lil Craig has also branched out into the acting field. In the years of 2000 & 2002 Lil Craig did some major roles in large theater productions as Mr. Potter in "It's A Wonderful Life" and the Narrator in "Into The Woods". These roles were the foundation of a skill he had in acting. In 2005, Lil Craig trained as an actor/model with a company known to many as the Barbizon Model & Talent Agency.
