Biography

Ahmed Abd was born in Baghdad in 1994, and obtained a diploma in theater arts in Baghdad, and in addition to his studies of fine arts, he studied at the Iraqi Center for Independent Cinema to his studies for three years.He also directed a short feature film called "War Nest" in 2017. He also worked as an assistant director for the feature films "The Journey", "Haifa Street" and "The Last Displaced Person". He has also edited, written and filmed other short films. After that, he directed the short documentary film, "Birds of Sinjar" which won the award for best journalistic work at the BBC Arabic Festival in 2019. After that, he directed his first feature documentary film, "The Fifth Story" which won the award of Film International Federation of Film Critics Award, at the "IDFA" festival in 2020. and ended with a short documentary film entitled "Safia" Which participated in the Arab Film Festival in San Francisco. He is currently working on his feature film "breathe to breathe".
