Dagoba is a French Death Metal band formed in 1997, in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. The band's original lineup was then composed of lead vocalist Shawter, guitarist Jean-Pierre « Izakar » Isnard, guitarist Stephan « S.T. », bassist Werther Ytier and drummer Franky Costanza. This five singer and musicians got to know each other in high school, in Marseille.
Dagoba went through various lineups before settling on the current lineup (to date) of lead vocalist Shawter, guitarist Richard « Ritch » De Mello, bassist Werther Ytier and drummer Nicolas Bastos. The band produced seven studio albums between 2003 and 2017 : Dagoba (2003), What Hell Is About (2006), Face The Colossus (2008), Poseidon (2010), Post Mortem Nihil Est (2013), Tales of the Black Dawn (2015) and Black Nova (2017).
Mostly referred to as a Death Metal band, Dagoba is also very often identified as a Industrial Metal band or a Groove Metal band. Members of the band have cited among their influences Pantera and Machine Head.
