Lala Aliyeva-Klychkova was born on February 19, 1977 in Baku, Azerbaijan. She graduated from the School of Humanities of Khazar University in 1998. She wrote her first feature script in 2004. That script was read by an American actor Lane Davies who praised her first script and gave her confidence in her work. During her private visit to London when she met with British actress Shenagh Govan who persuade her not to give up writing. In 2017 the first short film The Salty Sea Dog (2017) based on her script was released. In the same year she joined the new project called "Women in Motion" founded by Maria Ibrahimova intended to identify and support talented women in Azerbaijan who want to start a career in cinema. She also attended a script writing workshop by the British writer and director Paul Fraser, and later was among three winners of the pitching within the British Film Spring Movie Festival in Baku. In 2018 she directed her debut short film Such a Sweet Life (2018). She is a graduate of the CineSchool at the Unions of Filmmakers of Azerbaijan (workshop by Rustam Ibragimbekov).
