Ayakamay

Ayakamay, born Ayaka May Komatsu, in Nashville, Tennessee in 1985, and grew up in Tennessee, Japan, and California. Currently living and working in New York City as a visual artist, actress, performance artist, freelance professional photographer, Ayaka's photographs have been exhibited world wide, winning both awards (including the prestigious Japan Advertising Photographers' Association (APA) award in 2005) and international acclaim. Ayaka's award winning work "Red:Web" (2005) also on exhibit at the Tokyo Art Museum. Ayaka was also recently invited to take photographs for Big Picture Rochester-an outdoor photo gallery in downtown Rochester, NY. In New York City, Ayaka's photos are currently being exhibited at Kiwa Gallery. Previous exhibits of Ayaka's which showed in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka include "Kononba" (2004) "Photo is love Love is photo" (2004) "Your Little Monster" (2003) "Dreamer" (2003) and "ayakamay" (2002).
