Biography

Mike penned and produced his first theatre piece at age ten. He went on to write and produce another two stage productions by age fourteen, then crossed over into screenwriting in his late teens. In 2013, Mike gathered a cast and crew to shoot a bank heist over the course of two days, closing down the town of Victoria, and reeling in over three hundred people in cast and crew, taking on the full-scale logistics of vehicle stunt work, gunfire, and period set design. Mike went on to write and produce multiple audiovisual commercials for private and public entities, including two international adverts for the Malta Tourism Authority. He has since wrote and produced four short films, with one (Eve) being shortlisted for six international film festivals (2016), and another (Color) winning ICA Festival (2017). Mike has also adapted some renowned literary works for screen. Among them are the sociopolitical stage play "Menz", by Malta's acclaimed dramatist Francis Ebejer, and the novel "Meta Jaqa c-Cpar" ("When Fog Falls"), by Trevor Zahra, one of Malta's most prolific authors.
