L Ruhland is a filmmaker from Minnesota known for filming and editing self expressed provoking metaphorical escapism films. She is a dedicated non-binary LGBT advocate and share stories to uplift and empower others around and like her. Beginning her filmmaking career with short films and low budget films like Thunder Island (2017) and Finding the Invisible Man (2018), she discovered her process and began working on shorts that better conveyed feeling trapped in a certain reality. After spending a semester and a half in film school, L found herself trapped without having learned anything and taking up all her time to do what she loves. So she moved on from college to complete the film Being Nothing (2019). Her career from there proceeded to produce better, higher quality films on a journey with self loving priorities.
