Biography

Arnab Jan Deka is a multiple award-winning leading Assamese-Indian story-writer, novelist, screenwriter, actor and film director based in the city of Guwahati, Assam, India. He authored more than 150 books in English, Assamese and Bengali, on the genres of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama, and also writes regularly for leading English and Assamese language dailies and periodicals in Assam. He oeuvre of films and television series include Priyojon(1994), Srimanta Sankardev(1996), Kolijar Amothu(2008), Character of an Artist(2008), Soisobote Dhemalite(2011), Golden Jubilee of Assam Economics Research & the Pioneer Assamese Economist-Litterateur(2014), A Passage to Assam(2016) and several others. His under-production directorial ventures include My Sweetheart in Mexico and Moi Eti Zazabor. His three short stories 'Himalayan Mystic Meeting', 'Three Village Girls' and 'An American Mother' have been studied by MA(English) postgraduate students under the Syllabus of Manonmanian Sundaranar University, Tamilnadu, India. His biography has been incorporated as one of the top Indian writers in the End Century Edition of 'Who's Who of Indian Writers' in 1999 brought out India's apex literary body Sahitya Academy of Government of India.
