Biography

Currently, Irving S. T. Garp is the pseudonym of Bernard Caelen, a Belgian photographer born in Liège, Belgium in 1964. His photographic pseudonym is a reference to the writer John Irving and his novel "The World According to Garp". Prized in many national and international photo contests, his pictures are mainly known (or recognized) thanks to their original stagings, tinted with ironic, sarcastic and very squeaky "made in Belgium" humor. Besides that, several pictures also denounce certain social facts like « Seed of Brick », showing the climate deregulation, which has been awarded by the UNO. The "photographic writing" of Irving S. T. Garp is very close to the cinematographic staging and this state of mind naturally led him to write several scripts. Beside "The Red Neon", a short film "Le Violon dingue" and a feature film "Les Petits Vieux" are currently under development.
