Hick'ry Hawkins

In 1986 Hick'ry Hawkins enlisted in the United States Navy. The artist was given an Honorable Discharge in 2000. During 1987 through 1990 Hick'ry Hawkins was assigned to the USS Coral Sea as the (1) Intelligence Specialist (2) Nuclear Weapons Technician (3) Strike Warfare Operations Intelligence Analyst (4) Mustering Petty Officer (5) SEAL Team Mission Planner and (6) USMC Bomber Mission Planner. After the USS Coral Sea was "decommissioned" or as Hick'ry says "Turned into razor blades" (scrapped) Hick'ry was reassigned to the Virginia / Washington D.C. area. In the early to mid 1990s Hick'ry was assigned to the office of the Secretary of Defense where Hick'ry briefed the Joint Chiefs of Staff on sensitive missions. During his 14 years of service Hick'ry Hawkins was part of almost every major military theater of operation involving Intel work. So the artist Hick'ry Hawkins whose last address before enlisting was Sheri's Trailer Park in Mullins, South Carolina led one heck of a life while in the military.
