Cocagne et Delaunay

Biography

Cocagne and Delaunay was a comic duo made up of Alain Cocagne and Jean-Jacques Delaunay, who enjoyed success in the 70s and 80s. Alain Cocagne did the Conservatory of Drama in Rouen, as did Jean-Jacques Delaunay, who won first prize in comedy. He spent two years in a Norman troupe "L'expansion culturelle de Normandie". Alain Cocagne began his career with Jean-Jacques Delaunay by making the round in the restaurants of Rouen. They spend singing songs that they composed, and they have a lot of success. One day they meet Dominique Paturel and Francis Lax who will direct them towards relations in Paris to pass auditions. The duo then left for the conquest of Paris. Alain Cocagne and Jean-Jacques Delaunay are quickly engaged in Parisian cabarets, notably Le Caveau de la République. He began a real career as comic artists in 1976. The following year, the duo replaces Pierre Pechin, the espca of one evening in the first part of Michel Sardou at the Olympia. The public appreciates them such that they are engaged to make other first parties like the spectacle of Dalisa at the Olympia. Cocagne and Delaunay are then offered to do a tour with Nicolas Peyrac. Back from tour, the comic duo recorded his first album, then continued successfully his performances in cabarets Parisian. At the same time, they participate in numerous programs and festivals. In 1981, they received the prize of the laughter festival of Rochefort. After fifteen years, Cocagne and Delaunay separate. Both artists continue their solo careers. While continuing to be humorist, Jean-Jacques Delaunay embarks on a career of crooner. In 1992, they released an album of covers of French, English, and Spanish standards. In 1998, Alain Cocagne put an end to his career and moved to Aix-les-Bains near his family. Jean-Jacques Delaunay pursues his career and performs in musical performances such as "C'est si bon" (music by Henri Betti, lyrics by André Hornez) in tribute to Yves Montand. Since 2012, he runs a radio show "Le Delaunay show" on the radio "Les Étoiles du Coeur".
