Can Merdan Dogan

Can Merdan Dogan was born on May 5, 1987, in Ankara, Turkey. He is a director and writer, known for Stiletto 'A Pink Family Tragedy' (2021) and Çekmeköy Underground (2015). He studied at Ankara University Theater Department and completed his Master's at Kadir Has University Communication Department (Cinema and TV) in Istanbul. Stiletto 'A Pink Family Tragedy' (2021) was selected and received awards from numerous national and international film festivals, notably the 65th BFI London Film Festival and the International Dublin Film Festival. Most recently, he has been pursuing his PhD. in Media, Theater, and Popular Culture in Germany. He is interested in queer cinema and hybrid forms of storytelling.
