A native to the state of New York, Skylar Fray comes from a family of 6 and fell in love with acting after doing a skit for the local talent show in White Plains, NY in 2nd grade with some friends from the neighborhood. Fray was involved with chorus and theatre in primary and secondary school. However in high school, Speech and Debate opened up for her to travel to places like Yale, U-Penn, and Columbia where she really found the love of storytelling and sharing that experience with others.
In 2012, Fray went to the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, New Mexico to study theatre and writing. During her brief attendance at the university she was apart of The Underwear Society a sketch comedy troupe. She returned to New York in 2013 to take a break from acting and steadily developed a portfolio of various prose and poetry and rapport with The Knack Magazine a platform for artists to express and their voice.
In 2016, Fray was invited into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York and graduated in 2018 and was awarded the Max Fischer Award. Furthering learning her craft she was invited to be apart of the Academy's 2018-2019 Company and has worked with prominent theatre directors such as Barbra Rubin, Adrienne D. Williams, and Hal Brooks. Having such a healthy theatre base in NY, Fray decided to head back to New Mexico to expand her acting circle to the film industry. She follows suit to Sonia Sanchez and writes a haiku every morning before doing anything else.
