Biography

Martin "Marty" Nestor was born on January 29, 1957, in New York City, NY. He was the son of John Nestor and Jeannie (Friary) Nestor. Nestor made his home in the Littleton-Westford area of Massachusetts for most of his life. He was a 1975 graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical High School where he studied drafting. Nestor was a CAD mechanical designer and designed speakers for Bose for many years. He was a singer / songwriter who as a teenager got his start in music by playing guitar at folk masses conducted inside St. Anne's Church in Littleton. Nestor went on to front many bands, including "Striders Wrath" and "Down Twisted". "Marty Nestor and the Black Jacks" was the last band he fronted. He created several albums over the years and his last one was "Live at the Bull Run". Nestor died at Lawrence General Hospital on September 10, 2016, after a short illness. He was 59 years old.
