Derek Michael Severson is an American Actor best known for his role as the Dancing Killer in Gold Dust (2020), as well as roles in Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland (2016) , and CBS's The Inspectors (2016). He is an Air Force Combat Veteran, having served a four-year enlistment, including two deployments to the Middle East. After completing his enlistment, he attended the conservatory program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and earned his Associate Degree in Acting. He is currently attending the Los Angeles Film School and pursuing his Bachelors Degree in Directing.
Derek was born in Suburban Chicago to parents, Peter and Amber Severson. He has an older sister, Rachel, and a younger brother, Peter. He graduated from Lincoln-Way East High School where he was an all-state track athlete, and still holds a school record for the basketball program. He briefly attended the University of Iowa on a track & field scholarship before enlisting in the Air Force. He also holds an Associate Degree in Aviation Operations from the Community College of the Air Force.
