Dillon Selph was born in South East Georgia is a self taught composer where he first joined band in sixth grade, which he started out as trumpet. He soon moved over to french horn where he worked his way to the top of his section. In his eighth grade year of band he realized his calling for film music because he fell in love with the many scores of John Williams. In High School he was the first chair player of french horn in the top band of his High School. During High School he began arranging music for his band as well as transposing parts of scores for the band director. During a year in which Dillon attended Honor Band in High School he encounter a composer Known as David Holsinger which mentored him through the few times speaking to him and showed him many paths. Dillon would like to thank all his musical friends as well as his band directors John Hillsman, John Reed, John Folsom, and Dennis Kirby for all they taught him throughout his years of band as well as composer David Holsinger, without these men he would not be where he is today.
