Darren Zimmer

Darren Zimmer was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. Grew up on a family farm described as being 'in the middle of nowhere from at least three different directions'. He received his BFA (Acting) w/honors from the University of Saskatchewan in 2009. After graduation, sold furniture in a retail store for five years to pay off his student loan. While acting in several production companies and theater groups in the Saskatoon area, helped to found Mini Fridge Dinner Theater, a dinner theater company which he performed in until he moved to Vancouver in 2020. He is also a member of the Land of Darkest Skies Writing Group - a content creation company of writers for horror based TV and film. He has two brothers and two sisters and has an extended family too large to count some days. Being Catholic, the family 'took the be fruitful and multiply very seriously.' Lost his father to a heart attack in 2009, two months before he was to earn his degree. His mother was taken by brain cancer in March of 2020. Has three nephews, two nieces and three goddaughters he is immensely proud.
