Thijs Meuwese was born in The Netherlands in 1987 and grew up on a healthy diet of cartoons, comics and movies. It wasn't long before he aspired making films of his own, winning best short film at a Belgian film festival in 2007 and graduating film school in 2011. His student film was a feature length fantasy thriller that played the local festivals. The following years he wrote and directed several commercials, short films and web-series, and spent some time as a production designer on Dutch feature films, before finally writing and co-directing his English language debut feature film "Molly" in 2016. Molly was nominated for Best Film at the Imagine film festival and received decidedly positive reviews when it was released on DVD & Blu-ray in the US. His next feature, "Kill Mode", written and directed by him, is an ambitious sci-fi action movie, whose pitch won the 2015 Imagine pitching contest, securing its place in Montréal's Frontières Film Market. With international sales starting in Cannes in may of 2019, it is expected to see a release later that year.
