Biography

Andrew Dowbiggin is a British actor best known for his roles in television programmes "The Bay" (2019), "Coronation Street" (2017), "Casualty" (2016), "Emmerdale" (2014), "Cilla (2014), "SIlent Witness" (2013) and Hustle (2012). He will be next appearing in the new series of "Cobra" (2020) on Sky One, which airs in 2021. Born in Leicester, England, Andrew moved to London to pursue a career in acting after working in the steel and construction industry. He trained for one year at the prestigious E15 Acting School. After graduating he worked primarily in theatre but he was soon to make his television debut opposite Sheridan Smith in the television series "Love Soup" (2008), playing her tennis coach love interest. He would work again with Sheridan a few years later in the three part ITV series "Cilla" (2014). Andrew has worked steadily and his work has taken him all across the UK, Europe and as far as South Africa. He continues to build a healthy body of work in both mainstream and independent productions, working with a variety of directors including Lewis Arnold (twice), Christine Gernon and Alrick Riley. He was directed by Jo Johnson in "Casualty" (2016) in which he was a guest lead playing opposite the wonderful series regular Jane Hazlegrove (in her final episode) and the TV veteran Eric Richard, playing the latter's son. He has recently completed filming on the third series of ITV drama "The Bay", in the regular role of Detective Sergeant James "Clarkie" Clarke, which is scheduled to air in early 2022.
