Laura Pirard was born in Santa Monica, California on December 18th, 1983. She lives in Los Lunas, New Mexico. She began playing the trombone in 6th grade and remains active on the instrument semi-professionally, primarily performing in the Albuquerque area as part of the pit orchestra for musical theater productions. She began studying music education at the University of New Mexico in 2002. She ceased her studies there in 2010 and began studying at Sol Acting Academy in 2012.
Laura got her start in film as a composer for a team involved in the 48-Hour Film Project (Out of Stock Productions). Since then, she has scored several more short films for Out of Stock and local directors. She has also contributed music to a locally produced feature length film as well as Vivian Nesbitt's award-winning one-woman show The Bark and the Tree, which has been performed internationally.
She had the opportunity to act on camera for the first time for another 48-Hour Film Project endeavor, "Saving Face" (which was accepted into the top 10 films for the Albuquerque festival in 2011). Laura his since devoted a great deal of personal study to the field and endeavors to take classes and training whenever possible. Aside from screen acting and film scoring, she is also actively developing her skills as a voice actor - a pursuit she attributes largely to the inspiration of the quality voice work heard in her favorite video games.
