Derek McCaslin

Derek is an American writer, producer, actor and musician. He was born and raised in Flint, Michigan before relocating to Nashville, TN. He is best known for his work on the 2011 independent film "The Nothing" as well as the 2013 short "The Beast of Balor," a viral hit on YouTube. Derek wrote "The Beast of Balor" as a member of The Nether Region, a Nashville based "collective" that creates short films, comedy sketches and web series for their self titled YouTube channel. Outside of film, Derek is a working musician in and around Nashville, playing bass for the internationally successful band Who's News.
