Biography

Brent Calderwood has appeared as an interviewee in film, TV and other media, where he speaks about his writing as well as cultural issues. He writes on film, arts and culture with bylines in Rolling Stone, Out, Noir City and The Film Experience. For Rolling Stone, he interviewed David Amram, the composer of film scores including "The Manchurian Candidate" and "Splendor in the Grass." Calderwood discusses his writing and also performs original music in the 2009 film "The Butch Factor"; and as a youth activist he appeared on the talk show "Lifestories with Gabrielle Carteris." He was included in Out magazine's annual "OUT 100" list of news makers for both 1996 and 2014.
