Mike Gomes

Mike Gomes is a Portuguese-American Director of Photography born & Raised in Newark, New Jersey. His interest and love for filmmaking came at a very young age and his passion for the craft has led to him shooting all over the world as a cinematographer. His experience is rooted in emotionally compelling documentaries extending into narrative, commercial & music video work. As a SXSW Alumni, his first Feature Length Documentary, The Dwarvenaut, had its World Premiere at SXSW 2016 and was acquired by Netflix. He's worked with notable brands & companies such as Sesame Street, Jeep, The Guardian, Netflix, Rosewood Hotels, GQ, NBA, Citibank, Bajaj, and more. His sense of adventure and hands-on style has led to him shooting in countries like Myanmar, Rwanda, Uganda, Greece, China, Colombia, India, Turkey, Jamaica, Nepal, Mexico, Mali and more. He brings a strong sense of energy & passion to his work as well as on set with the intention of creating a lasting collaborate spirit amongst the team. Gomes always strives to add a strong sense of humanity & epic scale to the stories he chooses to tell with the goal of creating and capturing compelling images that informs, entertains and inspires.
