Johan Matton

Swedish award-winning actor, writer, and producer Johan Patrik Fredrik Matton, born in Stockholm, has contributed to the independent film community in New York with several different projects, winning several best-acting awards for his performance in dramatic films and series. He has produced several feature-length independent films for which he won Best Pictures at grand festivals, amongst them the documentary Lives of Bernard Herrmann, Midsommar, Femme, The Philosopher King and Till We Meet Again, which obtained worldwide distribution and a limited theatrical release in the US. Johan has worked with well-established filmmakers and DPs such as Lance Kuhns (SNL) and Anna Franquesa Solano (The Farwell, A24) and actors such as Edie Falco, Olivia Luccardi, Reed Birney, Alec Baldwin, and Becky Ann Baker. His films have won awards and screened at over 70 film festivals around the world. Johan worked as the head content producer for Snapchat producing the official Olympics 2018 in public Snapchat channel. The first Swedish official Snapchat channel ever launched. Johan attended and graduated from 3 major Theatre schools; the renowned Circle in The Square Theatre School on Broadway, the Meisner acting the program at New York Film Academy and Calle Flygare's Theatre School and have since his graduation won several best-acting awards for his performance in the film 'Till We Meet Again' and 'Indigo'. Outside of making and acting in films and TV shows, Johan is involved in multiple charity organizations, has traveled through almost all Southeast Asian countries, volunteering with Soi Dogs in Phuket, taking vegan cooking classes in Bangkok and visiting meditation centers in Tibet. Johan is the festival director and founder of Nordic International Film Festival and is actively working to build relationships between Scandinavian and US filmmakers. Johan continues to both produce and act in independent films both in New York, Asia, and Europe through his production company Changing Film Productions or as a freelance actor and producer. He is helping all projects to achieve their vision and goals.
