Biography

Tania Khodakivska was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. At the age of 15 she started working on TV, while also studying at physics/mathematics high school. "1+1", where Tania worked on a "Bomb" TV show, was the top-rated national channel for the time being. At that point Ukrainian TV was in the process of becoming, which allowed for a lot of experiments and creativity. She later continued to work on TV while also studying at the National Taras Shevchenko University. In 2003 she received her MA in Journalism. In 1999-2003 she was working at "Novyi" TV channel as an author and director of live TV show "Rise". For 3 years it remained the best rated TV show nationwide and, later, a textbook example for Journalism and TV students at universities. In 2004 the show received Ukrainian national award "TV Triumph" as the Best television show. Next year, for the first time in the history of the festival, «Rise» received the same award again. Starting from 2005 Ms. Khodakivska has been increasingly working in film. Her debut TV film "Forgiveness Sunday" was met with big success in Russian-speaking countries. Since 2007 the film has been shown on major Russian and Ukrainian TV channels yearly. It became one of three top-rated programs in Russia in February 2010. This film was done with Pronto Film production, Kiev, Ukraine. "Angels of war" is a 220-minutes war drama directed by Tania Khodakivska. In 2012 the film successfully traveled to different festivals around the globe. Chicago International Film Festival - Gold Plaque, WorldFestHouston - Special Jury Award, World Media Festival in Hamburg - Globe-GOLD in the miniseries category. US International Film&Video Festival - Silver Screen, Ukrainian National Award at "TV Triumph" (teletriumf). "Best film", "Best director" nominations. Tania Khodakivska is a successful storyteller working with different audiences and instruments. In 2013 she directed a children's film "Travel to heaven" in Holoport system (glassless 3D technology). This project was done for distribution in India with Front Pictures, Kiev, Ukraine. Solid experience and proficiency in modern technology and creative spirit made it possible for Ms. Khodakivska to direct "A Matter of Time" - the first Ukrainian 3D animation for film theaters (90 min). "Matter of Time" production started in 2013 (production of "Good Deeds Animation", Kyiv).
