Lia Elliott

Lia Elliott received her B.A. in Cinema & Media Communications with a Concentration in Journalism from George Fox University in 2010. Lia grew up acting and she has been involved in film for the last ten years either in front of or behind the camera. Lia is well versed in broadcast news and a number of her written articles have been published. Realizing she had a better chance reaching people by making films she started Unsilenced Pictures in December of 2009 with the hopes of incorporating both investigative journalism and film to make a positive impact on society. Over the last couple of years, Lia has fully immersed herself in research of sex trafficking and advocacy for sexual assault victims. Spreading awareness of sex trafficking and doing something tangible about it is one of her biggest passions. This is what drove her to make a feature length documentary, "Underneath the Surface: Modern Day Slavery from Phnom Penh to Portlan."
