Michelle Liu Coughlin was born in Plainfield, Connecticut, to Mei Coughlin (waitress/high stakes blackjack dealer) and Arthur Coughlin (home builder). She is the youngest of two children. Her mother is Taiwanese and her father is Irish American. She developed a love for acting and music at an early age and began her career by taking part in a wide range of productions at her school, Norwich Free Academy.
As an avid sports lover, Michelle grew up playing basketball, soccer, and softball. She played basketball for 10 years and dreamed of playing point guard for the UConn Huskies, but instead, she decided to pursue a performance career. She went on to study acting, music, and dance at Shenandoah Conservatory before moving to New York City.
A former administrative assistant at the Estee Lauder Companies, Michelle has a passion for skin care and loves to talk about her favorite products. She is a big advocate on the importance of wearing sunscreen daily.
Michelle enjoys collaborating on projects with her artist collective, dancing, and spending time with her husband and friends in New York City.
