Rina Hoshino is a bilingual Japanese-American actress, award-winning voiceover artist and singer. Born in Yokohama, Japan and having spent her adolescence in Seattle, Hoshino trained at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles. Hoshino narrated Little Piyo's Adventure, a bilingual children's book series that was released by Apple and Gakken Co, Ltd in 51 countries. It has been downloaded over 130 million times worldwide and was chosen as one of Apple 'iBooks' Best of 2013'. During The Hollywood Christmas Parade, Hoshino was selected as a spokesperson for Rilakkuma (San-x) and shared the importance of the Japanese mascot to the Parade's Grand Marshall, Olivia Newton-John, while being escorted on the red carpet in a onesie.
In 2019, Hoshino voiced Mewtwo in Detective Pikachu which was a world-wide sensation and became the most successful Live-Action Film Adaptation of a Video Game. Hoshino also voiced Bunko in WWZ which sold a million copies in its 1st week of release. Hoshino was a Co-Lead in the international short film: And Then, which has since been featured on the front page of Kickstarter's official website as a Featured Project. Hoshino's latest role is as an unannounced Lead in a AAA Video Game that is yet to be released.
