Emilia Henriques da Silva

Graduating in International Management from a prestigious International business school, Emilia Henriques da Silva has always held a deep interest in the state of the world around her. At the conclusion of her studies she decided to dedicate her knowledge, skills and expertise in marketing and communications to socially driven projects. Meeting Jacques-Yves Mistretta fifteen years ago, Emilia pursued her socially driven desire through the co-creation of an association that organized and managed seminars, conferences, workshops and humanitarian missions to many countries in need in Asia and throughout the world. Travelling regularly to these countries she has developed an understanding and compassion for the people and their needs. It is at this time that she started to follow the practices and philosophy of Buddhism that remain with her today. Emilia, always passionate about cinema and its magic, developed a deeper understanding of its power of communication through a consulting engagement for a producer. Emilia and Jacques-Yves decided together to found their own production company, Paramita Entertainment with the objective of communicating and discussing sensitive topics in a constructive and powerful manner. Co-writing original stories and scenarios with Jacques-Yves, she is inspired by the personal experiences and the knowledge she has gained throughout years of working on humanitarian projects and reaching the hearts of people all over the world. Based in London for several years, she travels regularly to the United-States to both perfect her writing skills in feature film format and further develop her production skills. Emilia is building a portfolio of films focused on reaching American and European audiences. In 2010 she joined the team at the American-based International charity HUMANYWORLD Foundation which is a platform created with the focus of connecting the cinema industry more closely to those in need around the world. Today, Emilia acts as a producer and is working on the development and production of several short and feature length film productions. Her productions are across various different genres and always focus on developing and engaging discussion around important subjects in a way that is both constructive and compassionate. Through her films, Emilia hopes to allow families to discuss and educate their children on what is best in the world and how to make their own change.
