Jason M. Koch

Upon graduating high school, Jason Koch attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh studying industrial design and film special effects. Upon graduating in 1995, he returned to Baltimore MD., where he continued his film studies at University of Maryland, Baltimore County and began his work as an effects artist in independent film and television. Jason spent the next fifteen years building his special effects company Aftermath FX Studio. Working for National Geographic, The History Channel, Investigation Discovery, AMC, CBS 60 Minutes and finally his work with the ATF and their "murder for hire program" was highlighted on ABC 20/20. During that time Jason and his FX company also supplied special effects for some notable independent films such as "V/H/S 2" and "Troma's Return to Nuke 'Em High." In 2011, Jason began to produce and direct his own projects with a 30 min short film named, "Lamplight." Which went on to win best cast performance, at Late Night Horror Film Fest 2011 and received an audience choice award at Killer Film Fest 2011. Jason's first feature 7th Day was released in 2013 and received Best Feature and Best Actor nominations at the Eerie Horror Film Fest. "7th Day" DVDs would sell out in the first nine months and would be released digitally on Amazon, Cox Cable and recently received an international distribution deal (GER). Jason's 2nd feature, "Pig Pen," is currently touring the film festivals, receiving 11 nominations and winning, Best actor,(A Night of Horror Film Fest 2015) Best actress, Best special effects(HorrorHound 2016) With over 15 years industry experience, Jason made the move to Los Angeles, CA. In 2015. Where he began working at Ojala Productions, a North Hollywood special effects studio. Currently, Jason just supplied FX on huge creature feature, "CRABS!", a Verizon Go90 web series titled, "Miss 2059," and the feature film, "Strange Nature". Jason is currently working on starting his third feature.
