Alison Wotherspoon

Alison worked in film and television at the BBC, Film Australia, ABC, SBS, studied Producing at AFTRS and worked as an independent producer in Sydney before moving to Adelaide to teach Screen Production at Flinders University for 22 years. While at Flinders Alison continued to produce, write, and direct documentaries, docudramas and commercials on subjects ranging from bullying, refugees, ASD, Alzheimer's to learning Italian. Her Creative Practice PhD "From Evidence to Screen" produced a model for documentary production funding through university and non-screen funding agencies. Alison returned to producing in 2019 and established Shining Catalina Productions Pty Ltd with filmmaker Anne Tsoulis. Their film The Silent World of Barry Priori is screening on ABC TV. Alison also relatively recently discovered the art of fencing and is a veteran epeeist.
