Sophie Rankin was born in England Hampshire to Karen and Grahame Rankin both of English heritage. She has one brother called Ben Rankin. They're a very close family and Sophie speaks so highly of her upbringing and the remarkable best friend relationship that she has with her mother.
As a child and teenager she competed at a high level in county gymnastics which was her biggest passion and she took part in dance and various other sports.
After completing her ALevels in dance, drama, theatre studies, english language and psychology she attended the Actors Studio in London to specialize in film and TV acting and then moved to London to start a performance career. She worked hard attending as many auditions as she could and did regular one on one workshops with an acting coach in London Oxford street.
She got into modeling and commercial dancing and appeared in 32 British and American music videos, TV commercials, fashion lines and bollywood films. She was then cast in the Blood army feature film, English breakfast film, an Indian TV series called Love is greater than God and went on to do more films. She then landed a role in the very popular UK TV series Emmerdale playing Erica. Sophie was on Coach trip, Lee Nelson's well good show and On the road with Jack Whitehall- all English reality TV series. She also did a TV pilot for the BBC in America which was filmed in Miami and Nicaragua where she enthuses about being given the opportunity to go volcano surfing!
In 2015 Sophie got into pageantry and won the title of Miss Wonderful UK and then went on to represent England in Miss Global International and made it the finals which were held in Manila Philippines. Sophie then ended up moving to the Philippines after falling in love with the country and the people there and was offered a lot of modeling and acting work. She was featured in a Vision Express commercial, a Bio Luce shampoo TV commercial aired in Japan and the Philippines, other TV commercials around Asia and America, billboards advertising various campaigns, catalogues, fashion shows and she has had endorsements with beauty brands around Asia. She was a TV presenter in the Happy life TV series for GMA news and played Celine in the Mr and Mrs Cruz 2018 film with VIVA. In January 2019 she was also featured in the GMA Boy Tokwa film that also made it to cinema and she had a role playing Macey in a GMA TV series called Asawa Ko Karibal Ko.
In 2017 Sophie won the international beauty queen title of Miss Harmony World in Bali Indonesia which opened more doors for her within modeling in the Asian market. She landed a modeling contract in Malaysia for the Akero beauty brand as their endorser. She also worked as a presenter in China for 4 months hosting live events in 2018.
Sophie's also extensively traveled all over the world and has done a lot of work for charity along the way. She climbed Kilomanjaro in Africa to raise money for No More Malaria UK in 2014. Shes volunteered in orphanages in Vietnam, Thailand and Africa. She also worked as a voluntary English teacher for children and adults during her time in Tanzania. In 2014 Sophie also produced and directed a fashion show in London together with Revail model group to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
