Born Durant C.G. McLeod in United Kingdom territories (Jamaica); the youngest of five siblings. He has Maroon, Chinese, Scottish, and Jewish ancestry. His father Owen G. McLeod (deceased) and mother Polly Faithe-Perkins McLeod has always played a significant part in his life. Durant moved to the United States after he completed high school. Subsequently, he attended the University of South Florida on a full academic scholarship. On August 21, 2003, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Durant got into acting after moving to Los Angeles, California for an internship at Attorney Search Network as a Case Analyst. He then met world-renowned Byron Katie who helped him realizes his passion for acting; at which point the notion of going to law school and becoming an attorney was laid to rest.
Trivia: His father is a Scottish-Maroon Jamaican, and his mother an Afro-Chinese Jamaican with Jewish ancestry.
Durant is truly proud of his heritage and scholastic achievements. He attributes all of his accomplishments to Jesus Christ his savior.
