Biography

Austin Alexander is known for playing Dennis Ray Bryant in PBS's Mercy Street (2016), Zane in Lifetime's The Preacher's Daughter (2012), Matt in FOX's upcoming series This Country (2021) and roles on AMC's TURN: Washington's Spies (2014), National Geographic's The Long Road Home (2017), and the Showtime series The Good Lord Bird (2020). He is an actor, writer, and musician. He graduated with two Bachelor's degrees in Theatre and English Writing & Rhetoric from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. After graduation, he completed a two-year Meisner-based acting conservatory program under the instruction of Richard Robichaux. Since that time, he has steadily booked increasingly larger roles for TV and Film, while also developing projects of his own. As a writer and director, Austin has produced and directed several plays and short films. As a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (drums, guitar, mandolin), Austin has played in multiple genres since the age of 12 including indie rock, country alt, big band jazz, metal, and folk. His current music project, Austin Dang Dale, is a solo effort that combines soul music, old country, and comedy into a loud mouthed Hank Williams Jr. + cosmic cowboy + psych rock type outfit. He also wears all the hats in a sketch show called "Chad & Thad Show" that can be found on a few social media platforms.
