Shawn Nova

Shawn Nova grew up in LaSalle, Quebec and, throughout high school, involved himself with theatrical productions to feed his craving for the arts. He took charge of productions of famous plays such as "Closer", "The Crucible" and "Angels in America" which he wrote, directed and acted in. He has always approached his writing, directing and acting with a very strong passion and a sharp wit. He claims 3 movies have ever since, changed his life and inspired him to become a filmmaker. "The Godfather Part 2", "American Beauty", and "There Will Be Blood" are all films by filmmakers Shawn claims to be his main sources of inspiration. Shawn has ever since moved to Toronto and has been taking great steps into becoming the filmmaker he dreams to be. Since his realization, Shawn has been avidly taking part in productions at York University, and independent ones on his spare time. With dozens of scripts of all genres and styles in the bank. Shawn Nova now looks to produce as many as he can to show the world what he sees cinema to be: an infinite art of passion and will. Over the summer of 2010, Shawn Nova has independently produced his own pilot for a Television show entitled "Budz", which he wrote, directed, and is also starring in. With the help of his trusted partners, Denzel Franklin, and Jesse Fogel the three have founded A Jam Apart Productions and are taking the independent film/TV/and music world by storm. A Jam Apart productions now has 3 projects underway, all of which Shawn Nova is writing, directing, and acting in. Shawn Nova has been playing guitar for over 10 years, writing songs and playing concerts locally to promote his talent. He also sings and plays bass. His passion for music goes hand-in-hand with his love for film, as he incorporates a lot of his own music into his projects as soundtrack/score. He has finished one album "SuperNovaDrifts" released in 2009, and is working on a 2 part album called "Black and White" set for release in 2012. In the summer of 2014, Shawn Nova completed his 3rd studio album called "Beyond The City" and will spend the next year in the studio to finalize it. Furthermore, Shawn Nova has become partnered with local talents, Daniel Shulkin and Hooman Esmailzadeh to tackle on more projects around the Greater Toronto Area with full force. A Long Way Down Films was created in 2014 and aims to partner the greatest talents in Canada to make cinema that changes lives.
