Babita Modgil is known as a non-conformist, cult filmmaker and producer. She is known to produce hard-hitting subject films that deal with topics that are unknown and not delved into. Her love for the art of filmmaking and her calling for the unconventional compelled Babita to open up her own production company, Camel Through Needle Films, in 2008. She produced her first documentary feature,"Belly of the Tantra, in collaboration with " Pankaj Purohit " and "Onward Entertainment" which has sparked much controversy in India. Having produced remarkable cult documentary feature projects including "Belly of the Tantra" ( 2012) and "Tathagata"(2013). The Indian filmmaker Babita Modgil's next documentary feature "Sudden Cry" revolves around sex slavery and human trafficking in India and overseas. Modgil strives to create stories that are not only entertaining but in some way stretch the humanity and morality of an individual living today in the society.
