Amy Dawson

After not getting into drama school on the third attempt, she wrote a letter to director Richard Wilson and contacted casting director Robert Sterne about auditioning for the play That Face which they were casting at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre, saying that she strongly identified with the main character's struggles of being raised by a severely mentally ill mother and a sociopath father. She was eventually cast as Izzy in the play, which was her first big theatre job.
