Meegan May

Meegan May completed her Master of Screenwriting at Melbourne's Victorian College of the Arts in 2016, where she won Best Script for the TV series Viewers. Viewers was shortlisted in the Australian Writers' Guild's John Hinde Award, and, among others, was a quarter finalist in Final Draft's Big Break Competition and the Shore Scripts Screenwriting Competition. A decorated ex-soldier and veteran of the Afghanistan conflict, Meegan spent nearly five years working in the military, where one of her roles included producing content for print and radio both in Australia and overseas. A sitcom loosely based on her time in the military called The Taskforce, was long listed in the Australian Writers' Guild's Prime Time competition alongside Viewers. In 2017, Meegan undertook a year long artists residency at ACMI X as part of the ACMI X and VCA & MCM's Artist Studio Program, where she spent time working with director/producer Joel Kohn to develop a new short form series Seeker.
