Born in March of 1988, James Heyward began his active interest in cinematography while in middle school and high school, shooting various skateboarding videos of his friends. He was inspired to work in the film business after seeing production in action at Universal Studios and Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando Florida, and after graduating from high school in spring of 2006, he began his education in film production at Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC, taking such courses as Media Arts Business Procedures, Directing and Producing, Cinematography, and Directing for the Camera. While at Trident, James worked as a Non-Union Script Supervisor on numerous projects and received additional experience as a Script Supervisor during his training on the TV series Army Wives under Thom Rainey, a Script Supervisor with over twenty years of professional experience. He has worked as many different roles in the film business, including Director of Photography, Camera Operator, Second Assistant Camera, and Set Production Assistant. James graduated from Trident Technical College in April of 2012 with his Associate's degree in Applied Science.
