Iván Capillas

Ivan Capillas was born in 1973 in Sabadell, Spain. He began studying music theory and piano at the age of 5. By 7 he had written his first piece of music, and he debuted as a pianist when he was 16. Afterwards, he qualified as a piano teacher and got his High Degree in composition, orchestration, harmony and music theory, receiving the Honour Prize of the Conservatory. Later he studied conducting and expanded his knowledge at Berkley College of Music, studying advanced orchestration techniques and audio mastering engineering. Nowadays he focuses on composing music for film, theatre and visuals, and his scores for film have been nominated and awarded for prizes in several national and international film festivals.
