Alejandro Rincon was named CEO, Endemol Shine Boomdog, in November 2017.
Rincon oversees the newly merged Spanish TV production studio, which brought together Endemol Shine North America's U.S. Hispanic team and the leading independent Mexican TV production company, Boomdog.
Endemol Shine Boomdog is part of Endemol Shine Group, the independent global content creator, producer, and distributor, with a diverse portfolio of companies that are behind some of the most prominent hit television formats and series in the world.
Endemol Shine Boomdog is behind many of the top-rated Spanish-language series in both the U.S. and Mexico, including Mira Quién Baila (Univision), MasterChef Mexico (TV Azteca), Se Rentan Cuartos (Comedy Central Latin America), Chumel con Chumel Torres (HBO), Nicky Jam: El Ganador (Telemundo/Netflix), ¿Quién Es La Máscara? (Televisa), Súbete a Mi Moto (Amazon), Don't (TV Azteca) and Tu Cara Me Suena (Univison).
Boomdog and Endemol Shine had been co-producing numerous series in the region for several years prior to the November 2017 merger, including co-producing hit scripted series El Vato for Universo, which was honored with an International Emmy Award and unscripted hit Gran Hermano for Telemundo. Endemol Shine Boomdog recently announced an overall development and production deal with acclaimed producer Gaston Pavlovich ("The Irishman," "Silence") and his Mexico City-based production company Fabrica de Cine. Boomdog also has overall development deals with award-winning actress and producer Kate del Castillo ("La Reina del Sur") and her team at Cholawood Productions, as well as with International Emmy-nominated producer Marie Leguizamo ("La Voz Kids," "Pequeños Gigantes").
Rincon, with his partner Carlos Perna, founded Boomdog in 1997 in Caracas, Venezuela, and began operating in Mexico in 2007. Under Rincon's leadership, Boomdog quickly became the leading independent production studio in the Mexican entertainment market.
Rincon led Boomdog to build its own studio in Mexico City under an alliance with Sony Pictures. Mexico's Next Top Model was the first production to be filmed in the new studios. Since then, the studio has been the set of choice for many movies and television shows in Mexico including MasterChef and MasterChef Jr.
In 2010, Boomdog teamed with E! Entertainment Television, now part of the NBCUniversal group, to produce many of their franchise shows in Mexico, including E! Latin News, La Sopa, Fashion Police and How Do I Look.
Rincon currently resides in Mexico City.
