Von Fremd was a former White House Correspondent for CBS News. During the wall-to-wall coverage following the assassination of John F. Kennedy, he recalled, on air, a discussion he'd had with the president about the difficulty the Secret Service faces in protecting a president from someone truly determined to do him harm.
