James Buchanan

James Buchanan is a writer / director / producer and was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He is known for Soapdodgers (2002), Autumn Leaves (2014), The World We Knew (2020). Buchanan started working in Scotland on shorts and features before going to film school in Surrey, England, earning a B.A. in Film Production. His graduation short, 'Soapdodgers' (2002) won Best Short Film Drama at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, 2004. Moving to London he began working as a freelance music video director, whilst also working as an assistant director on various other film and video projects, most notably for the National Film & Television School. James also worked as a director for various live television and internet-based shows at the same time as writing and directing his own short films. He is in development for his feature film debut, The Last Jacobite.
