Gianclaudio Cappai was born in Cagliari, 1976. He studied cinema at the Accademia Internazionale dell'Immagine in L'Aquila, where he graduated in Directing and Screenwriting. He developed documentaries and film projects through his own production company (Hirafilm Srl), including the multi-awarded short film "Provided it's buried" (2006), winner of Tornino Film Festival and nominated at the Nastri d'Argento 2007. In 2009 he successfully presented his medium-length film "I know there's a man" at the 66th Mostra d'Arte Cinematografica of Venezia; a work of great expressive and stylistic maturity that strongly confirms him as one of the most interesting new Italian directors. "Leaving No Trace" is his first feature film.
